Information about the “Shuak” Alakol Center for Special Social Services

In October 2018, the Communal State Institution “Shuak” Alakol Center for Special Social Services of the State Institution “Department for Coordination of Employment and Social Programs of Zhetysu Region” was opened in Kabanbay village, Alakol district, Zhetysu region. The center was established to provide special social services for persons over eighteen years old with psychoneurological disorders.

The center is a state-owned stationary-type organization designed for 24-hour permanent residence of service recipients. The institution provides safe and comfortable living conditions and carries out comprehensive work aimed at maintaining health, social adaptation, and integration of service recipients into society.

The director of the institution is Ernur Alibekovich Maksutbaev, and the Deputy Director for Social Work is Zhanar Akhmetchanovna Kabdylldaeva. Currently, the center provides services to 40 residents (service recipients), and 57 employees work at the institution.

The main goal of the center is to implement the orders of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan and to provide special social services in accordance with the standards that determine the quality, volume, and conditions of service delivery. One of the key objectives is to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities, support their social adaptation, and protect their rights and interests.

During the provision of special social services, the personal inviolability and safety of service recipients are ensured. Special attention is given to creating a favorable moral and psychological environment in the institution. Taking into account the individual needs and characteristics of each resident, systematic work is carried out to increase their level of personal development, socialization, and integration into society.

The center provides social and household services, social and medical services, social and psychological services, social and pedagogical services, social and labor services, and social and cultural services. Residents receive daily living assistance, medical supervision, preventive and health-improving activities, psychological support, and opportunities to participate in creative, cultural, and educational activities.

The institution employs social workers, doctors, mid-level medical staff, a psychologist, a cultural event organizer, a labor therapy instructor, and teachers. Their joint work is aimed at improving the quality of life of service recipients, organizing their leisure time, encouraging participation in labor activities, and developing social interaction skills.

In addition, the center regularly organizes cultural, sports, and festive events, as well as creative and labor therapy activities that support an active lifestyle for residents.

The “Shuak” Center consistently carries out work aimed at providing care and support to people with disabilities, helping them adapt to life, develop their abilities, and find their place in society.
